Tokenization process

Tokenization is a process that involves converting sensitive data into a non-sensitive equivalent called a token. The process of tokenization typically involves the following steps:

  5. Token Usage: The generated token can be used in place of the original sensitive data for various applications or transactions. For example, a token can be used for payment processing, where the token represents the credit card information but helps prevent unauthorized access to the actual card details.
  6. Token Mapping: To maintain the relationship between the token and the original data, a mapping or correlation table is established and securely maintained. This table ensures that the original data can be retrieved when needed.
