Nigel is qualified in Hong Kong and England and Wales and has practised as a commercial litigator in Hong Kong for more than 30 years. He has been listed as a leading disputes lawyer in the international guides to the profession for the past 20 years. His expertise and experience is wide ranging; he has been involved in major disputes cases involving Court proceedings, arbitration, mediation and regulatory tribunals, and across a range of specialist areas, including finance litigation, regulatory investigations, commercial crime and fraud, breach of contract and warranty claims, breaches of confidence and restrictive covenants, joint venture and shareholder disputes and infringements of all forms of intellectual property rights.
Nigel is a former member of the Rules Committee of the High Court of Hong Kong and a member of the Hong Kong Law Society Civil Litigation Committee. At the invitation of the Chief Justice he has twice (in 2017 and 2018) sat for 5 weeks as a Deputy Judge in the High Court of Hong Kong SAR, during which he presided over a variety of matters and issued more than 20 judgments, one of which has been published in the HKLRD.
