YTL LLP recently acted as lead counsel to a prominent asset management company (“AMC”) in a HK$290 million funded participation transaction. In this arrangement, the AMC acquired 100% participation interest in a portfolio of secured loans from a reputable financial institution.
As part of the transaction, the AMC is entitled to receive, recover, and retain all principal, interest, and other payments from the participated assets. Additionally, the AMC has arranged for the financial institution to provide ongoing loan management services, ensuring effective oversight and optimisation of its investments. The transaction successfully closed in January 2025.
The transaction has enhanced the AMC’s assets portfolios and aligns with its long-term growth objectives.
